Practical quality workshops for software teams

I help QA and engineering teams make sharper quality decisions: on AI tools, on metrics, on what’s actually worth measuring.

Co-author, ISTQB Certified Tester Quality in DevOps, 2026 Ministry of Testing Community Star 20 years in software

What I run

Three workshops, and one built for your situation

Half day

The AI Quality Workshop

For teams where AI has landed unevenly and nobody quite agrees what good looks like any more. We work out where it belongs in your quality practice, and where it does not.

Four hours

Deciding Fast

A lightweight framework for evaluating AI-assisted and agentic testing tools, so your team can decide in weeks instead of running a six-month pilot that answers nothing.

Half day

The Q.E.D. Workshop

Building a metrics practice your team learns from rather than reports on. Most dashboards measure what is easy to count. This fixes that.

Bespoke, for one team

Most bookings start here. Tell me what is actually going wrong and I will build the session around it.

1:1 coaching

For QA leads and engineering managers who need to make the case for quality in a room where they are the only one making it.

Background

I have been the person asked whether it is ready

Twenty years in software, most recently as Test Architect and Head of Delivery at Fictioneers, and before that as a Senior Consultant at Infinityworks (now Accenture) across healthcare, fintech and banking. Earlier: Anaplan, Odobo, Disney and Linden Lab.

I co-authored the ISTQB Certified Tester Quality in DevOps syllabus, released in 2026, and I founded Quality Engineering Foundations, an open practitioner project that runs in public.

Speaking

Keynotes and workshops at CAST, Agile Testing Days, TestBash, HUSTEF, TestIt and the ISQA Conference. Most recently, on why AI did not break testing. It just made bad decisions faster. A recent selection:

Enquire

Tell me what is going wrong

You do not need a brief. A paragraph about the situation is enough for me to say whether I can help, what I would run, and what it would cost.

I reply to every enquiry within two working days.

I write about quality decisions, AI in testing, and the things that quietly go wrong in between. Occasional, and easy to leave.
